The Soul Healing Corner
Portraits of Your Soul is about healing for the soul. In our blog, spiritual artist and healer, Eileen Santos, will share inspirational healing stories, quotes, philosophies, and artistic and spiritual techniques from her own spiritual journey as an artist and healer. We welcome you to share your stories and comments!

Truth: To begin the healing process, we must see and embrace the truth within our souls. Accepting the truth means being honest with ourselves about who we truly are at our core.

Light: As we move from the darkness into the light, we begin to blend with the light and shed the hurts and ego-driven behaviors which no longer serve us.

Healing: As we experience this awakening and pierce the spiritual veil, we shift from a sense of separateness to a knowingness of connectedness. As we become one with the light, we heal our soul and unconditional love begins to reign at our core and essence of being. It is through this oneness with spirit that we begin to achieve our soul’s purpose.

Because sometimes in life we are afraid to honor the truth within ourselves, for fear of being rejected and not accepted by society, or those whom we love. In doing so, we deny ourselves of the happiness that comes with living the life our soul was meant to live.

“The Phoenix Rising,” tells the story of rebirth and resurrection. In mythology, the Phoenix bird symbolizes a fire spirit. It has a 500 to 1,000 year life-cycle, near the end of which it builds itself a nest of twigs that then ignites; both nest and bird burn fiercely and is reduced to ashes, from which a new, young phoenix is reborn anew to live again.

“Expressing Love,” is about a woman who because of past hurt and painful relationships is afraid to embrace love and express her true feelings. This is represented by the fact she doesn’t have a mouth in the painting. When she least expects it, she becomes blessed with true love, but her first reaction is to resist it. If you look into her eyes, which are said to be a window into the soul, you can see that what she feels is so deep, a love like she has never experienced before.

La Gitana wanders on different paths searching for her destiny, but it is clear that she will only find what she needs by connecting to the divine. The Artist

Eileen Santos, the spiritual artist and healer behind Portraits of Your Soul, began her artistic career as a hobby creating spiritual pastel paintings for family and friends. She soon realized that this gift within her was meant to be shared with the world, and as a result, began showcasing her work through Portraits of Your Soul.She began her artistic and spiritual journey back in 2003. At a time where she looked to heal and find true meaning in her life, she attended a small craft show in which she purchased an oil painting and several ceramics. That day, she felt that spirit was pushing her to tap into a creative gift within her, one which lay dormant for a long time, and she was compelled to go and purchase some art supplies. Not having ever taken an art class and not knowing which medium she should try, she relied on her intuition and the voice within. As she perused all the art supplies she was immediately drawn to a package of pastels, a set of drawing pencils, and a pastel paper pad. She purchased these items and having been inspired by these recent events went home to paint her first piece entitled “Spiritual Denial.” This piece became part of her first series of paintings, which includes two other paintings entitled “Spiritual Awakening,” and “Spiritual Transformation.”This journey led Eileen to finding “The Spiritual Warrior,” within herself and her soul’s purpose in life. This is also the title of one of her most acclaimed paintings and one which has great meaning to her. A spiritual warrior faces obstacles and challenges in life with relentless determination to find the truth and follow the light to serve their soul’s purpose. It was Eileen’s time to become the “spiritual warrior” and follow the truth within her heart. As she did, she found her connection with spirit and source and blended with the light, which led to her soul’s healing and spiritual transformation.It is this spiritual transformation which inspired Eileen to follow her heart and focus on sharing her gift. Her paintings stem from what she calls “experiences of the soul,” and are created with the purpose of providing healing energy at a soul level. The paintings are inspired by spiritual messages that she receives either through meditations, soul readings she does for clients, or dreams. Sometimes the messages come in the form of words or a sentence. Other times, she receives specific images, symbols, and colors that spirit guide her to include in the piece to convey important elements of the soul’s journey through truth, light, and healing. These are the stages Eileen used to find her purpose in life and spiritual enlightenment. She wants to share this wisdom and healing with you. The name Portraits of Your Soul refers to the impressions of the soul that are captured either through the artist's pastel paintings or through her spiritual healing work. These are all inspired by spirit and source and are based on messages of forgiveness, love, enlightenment, rebirth, and healing to name a few - energies all experienced at a soul level. The "S" of the word Soul in the logo has several meanings. It is depicted with jagged edges to represent the "S" that the artist uses in her signature, but also to represent one of the primary archetypes depicted in Eileen's paintings, that of The Spiritual Warrior. Eileen defines the spiritual warrior as someone who faces obstacles and challenges in life with relentless determination and will, able to move mountains as necessary to follow the light and serve their soul's purpose. They stand up for what they believe in and live the truth within their hearts. We specifically chose the word "Soul" in the logo to express another key theme in Eileen's spiritual creations, that of divine love and, in this case, each letter in the word "Soul" is used as an acronym for the following: Sacred Openness to Universal Love. The colors chosen for the logo are also very significant. The black colored background represents strong will, independence, and self-control as depicted in the spiritual warrior archetype. The blue color in the "S" and highlighting the tagline provides a semblance of spiritual peace and tranquility, but also represents the color of the 5th chakra (throat chakra), which refers to creativity and speaking and living the truth of your soul. The violet/purple color is representative of imagination and spirituality, including the feelings of love, nurturing and connection to spirit/source through the 7th chakra (or the crown chakra). See the Products & Services section for more details on Eileen's spiritual healing work.Lastly, but with utmost importance, is the significance of the words in the tagline: Truth, Light, and Healing. Eileen was given these words in a dream to express the stages of healing that she experienced in her own spiritual journey.Truth: To begin the healing process, we must see and embrace the truth within our souls and let go of that which no longer serves us.Light: Next, we blend and become one with the light. This allows us to understand and create a connection with spirit/source and shed the hurts and ego-driven behaviors which keep us from achieving our soul's purpose.Healing: Resulting and leading to spiritual enlightenment and a healing of the soul. Musical Theme:We chose to include a musical track entitled, Road to a New World, as the theme of this site. It only seems appropriate that our site, which is all about healing of the soul, select a musical piece that depicts the spiritual journey that moves us through the various stages of truth, light, and healing - a journey/road that leads to new beginnings and a new world in our lives.
